answer 2
Would not recommend, a rock tumbler would work much better, brass is way softer than rock and has different requirements for polishing and cleaning, the machine is designed for brass cartridge cases, not rock.

answer 4
It would be better if you used a motor driven tumbler rather than a vibratory type. You will just want to make sure the drum supplied has a water tight seal.

I cannot say for 100% sure but I have a very similar unit with another brand name on it. It is not water proof. The bowl is held on by a threaded rod which is held to the black plate under the bowl with 2 nuts. The rod passes through a hole in the bottom of the bowl where another nut holds the bowl in place. Finally the wing nut holds the top on the bowl.
For polishing rocks you probably want a drum type tumbler. I have a Lortone which I use for polishing brass. I have had it for 35 years. It is designed for SERIOUS duty.
