Photo is misleading there are not .22WMR options currently listed only this one .22LRN and currently (but it could change) it is CCI Standard Velocity 1070 fps which is just below the speed of sound. This is a little unreliable with many semi-autos. If you have a Ruger 10/22 in great condition and clean it may do well also Ruger SR22 but others like Sig pistol may jam, Failure to Eject and you get a "stove pipe". I prefer High Velocity and use Std Velocity with revolvers but your luck may be different.

answer 4
Maxi-mag not currently sold online by Cabela's will not fire in the same chamber as all LRs it is a WMR or magnum round. Typically requires a different firearm, WMR ammo has higher velocity and energy.

LRN (Standard Velocity) typically at or below speed of sound.
Mini-Mag either hollow point or round nose (solid) these are High Velocity above speed of sound have enough velocity and energy to minimize failure to eject, jams in a semi-auto and bullet goes further but is less accurate close range with bolt action competition rifle or pistol or a revolver were FTE is not an issue.
CB is a waste of time and $ IMO, google it.

CCI .22 Rimfire Ammunition, Item # IK-210841, in .22LR is not the same shell as a .22WRF and will not function in a .22 rifle that is chambered for .22WRF.

answer 2
Don't try it ,you won't enjoy the experience.

The .22 WMR is a larger case diameter than the other .22 rimfires, the the .22 WMR uses an inside lubed jacketed bullet seated inside the case. The 22 RF loads use a heel based outside lubed bullet allowing the case and bullet to be the same diameter. Firing a .22 LR in a WMR chamber can and probably will lead to case rupture and difficulty in extraction. You also could (probably would) get some gas blow back from the ruptured case.

Question

Why not include the CCI # in your listings and avoid any possible confusion ?

Example: The .22WMR is only listed as 30 Grain. That could possibly be CCI 0059, 0060 or even 0073. Adding CCI # to all their ammo would be very helpful to us. Thank you.

My guess is they want to be able to substitute different types of CCI ammo. As you probably know CCI manuf a lot of different .22LR in very similar grades. Cabela's like every other large retailer has a difficult time keeping every one in stock in large quantities. JUST A GUESS.

Managing a huge online website is very labor intensive with items constantly going out of stock. Especially .22LR in over 100 different flavors. LOL

I had some shipped to store because I wanted to see as well. It was CCI Standard Velocity. I did not want it because of FTE issues in semi-autos to declined and had $ refunded to my Credit Card. They may however, change it to a High Velocity .22LR this would work better in Semi-Autos and be much more popular.

The "WMR" indicates it is a Winchester Magnum Round and will not chamber in a 22LR as it a longer cartridge that shares the same size bullet. Refer to the owner manual to see if it can fire the smaller 22-long and the 22-short as they are not as long as the 22LR. But any 22Magnum could jam and even cause a accidental discharge and injury.

TMJ stands for total metal jacket just the same as with any handgun ammo. In rimfire this is a pretty thin copper plating that prevents leading and holds the bullet together a little better that pure lead. These bullets almost always have a flat point which really helps with killing game. Personally, I like them as well as hollow points because they seem to give a little better penetration. In 22 mag at ranges under 100 yards, I view them as good as any other bullet design.

Mini-Mag is CCI's line for their high-velocity .22LR rounds. There are two types of bullets in the CCI line: the solid 40 gr and the hollow-point 36 gr.

answer 2
Well, the bullets don't make any noise at all unless they hit something solid. :)

As to the report from the powder burning as the bullet exits the muzzle, these make about as much - or as little - noise as the other brands of high-velocity .22LR ammo.

Quiet-22 # 960
• Ultra-quiet plinking round in 22-caliber LR rifles
• 75% reduction in perceived noise of standard velocity .22 LR
• Standard CCI .22 LR case
• Excellent accuracy and low velocity (710 feet per second)
• Better performance than an air rifle with similar noise levels
• No hearing protection required
• Great for backyard plinking and introducing youth to the shooting sports
• Ideal for legal shooting areas where noise may be a concern

Question

Is CCI/Speer .22 Rimfire Ammunition +P rated?

My Taurus PT 22 is not rated for +P and I want to make sure it is safe for this weapon and warranty requirements.

This is standard ammo and will not affect the warranty in any firearm. It is lower powered than the premium ammo such as the CCI Stingers. There really is no such thing as +P ammo in 22 rimfire, so no worries.

I have never heard of "+P-rated" .22LR ammo. I don't have a Taurus so cannot directly answer your question: my best guess is they don't recommend "Hyper-Velocity" ammo such as the CCI Stingers or Remington Yellow Jacket rounds (1500-1600 fps). CCI Mini-Mags have a rated velocity of 1200-1260 fps, and are considered High Velocity.

If you are worried about damaging it, I recommend you contact the manufacturer and ask them.
