answer 1
The Cabela's Black-Powder Revolver Starter Kit, item # IK-216053, includes 30 round balls in the .44 caliber size. These lead balls will fit a .44 caliber revolver whether the barrel is fluted or not. Fluting does not affect the diameter of the bore. The primary effect of the fluting is that it will dissipate the heat from the barrel more quickly than a solid barrel of the same outside diameter.

Yes it will use the same lead ball. The reason for a fluted barrel is to reduce the overall weight of the firearm.

answer 4
Yes. Some recommend .451 round balls. Although they work, IMO they are not a tight enough fit.(minimal lead shaving when seated) I personally use (in all my .44's) the .454 rounds w/a lubed wad between powder and ball. then top off the charged ball w/Bore Butter or wonder lube or even occ bees wax seals. Hope this helps.

The Cabela's Black-Powder Revolver Starter Kit, item # IK-216053 has Wonder Wads which prevents chain fire between cylinder chambers. The Wonder Seals prevent chain fires and also cleans and lubes the barrel when shooting.

answer 2
The wads you use to seal the powder from the ball (use every time). The seals you only need to use if you are planning on leaving your revolver loaded for any extended period of time (seals off chamber and keeps ball and powder from becoming corroded). Should go into the chamber over the ball (last).

Wonder wads are used after powder chg has been poured, then ball is seated. Wax wonder seals, or lube or even bore butter is used AFTER ball to help keep from "chain" firing & to help clean and season the bore during shooting.

A powder measurer and in-line brass capper are included with the Cabela's Black-Powder Revolver Starter Kit, item # IK-216053, the powder measure is adjustable from 5 to 50 grains. The tool with the spring is the in-line capper. To load percussion caps in the capper, pull back the knob to compress the spring and expose the hole on the back side of the capper, insert the percussion caps to fill the capper and release the knob/spring.

The graduations are in grains of black powder granulation size FFg. Powder with guns is always in grains, unless one is reloading shotgun, which in that case sometimes drams are used.

I presume you are refering to the inline capper. The ignition caps are loaded into this for easier installing of caps on the cylinders.

The cap is the "primer" for black power guns. Below is the link to a # 10 cap on the Cabela's site. The actual size will vary dependent on the revolver or rifle you are shooting.
