CABELA'S Cabela's XT 1500 Digital Scale

Our digital scale offers the extreme precision required to create loads that consistently deliver unsurpassed accuracy, yet it is incredibly easy to use. It’s accurate to 1/10 of a grain and has a 1,500+ grain capacity. Calibration is a snap using the two included calibration weights. A unit-select button lets you choose one of six units of weight to be displayed in the easy-to-read digital LED window. Operates on either a 9-volt battery (not included) or 110-volt AC with the included adapter. You can program the automatic-off feature to conserve battery life by shutting the scale down after a period of inactivity. A transport-locking screw secures the scale when taking it to a new location. Includes powder pan and carrying case.

answer 2
DON'T DO IT.

This scale was not really designed to be a powder scale, it will continually re-zero itself if the weight in the pan changes very slowly (like trickling). I think this was a feature that the designer thought would help the user keep the scale at 0. Try this experiment, put a charge in the pan and then very slowly add powder taking your time ... the scale should keep resetting itself so that the amount doesn't change. You can get any amount of powder you want into the pan without changing the amount in the display. At least that is the behavior of my scale. I complained to Cabellas and they said it was behaving properly. Be careful.

answer 4
This scale can be used with a powder trickle but watch the digits. Every so often I have to empty the pan and put the powder back in to get an accurate measurement. I use the scale to check to powder my charger throws so I very seldom have to change anything. Powder loads should be double check regularly for safety reasons.

answer 7
Yes, you want to use it directly on the scale. The one I use is the Lyman E-Zee Flo Universal Powder Trickler because of its adjustable base height. There may be others you can look at but this one is pretty reasonable.

I was wondering how accurate this device read and what the lowest digit advances at. .125, .25, .001,

I'm not sure. I looked all over it and only found "Cabelas" on the front and on the back. Its kind of like trying to find out who makes Craftsman tools.

As with any electric scale measuring such minute weights, it is very sensitive to many environmental factors. I have such a problem with mine even on the power supply that I finally gave in and bought the expensive Lyman 1200 DPS 3 and while 90% of the time it is on within a grain I still had problems with vibrations, celling fan and so on that I back up my loads with the use of a cantilever which has given exact readings consistently but for every load is very time consuming. I use the 1200 for the desired load and then every five or ten loads put one on the cantilever to verify calibration.
