SIMS VIBRATION LABORATORY Sims LimbSaver® Barrel De-Resonator

The De-Resonator, a unique design with NAVCOM, is a major breakthrough in controlling the vibrations and barrel jump in rifles that cause discomfort and inaccuracy. This easy-to-install unit slips over the barrel, where it counteracts the harmonic resonance (vibrations) from the instant the bullet is fired, as it travels through the barrel and through its exit. By reducing the vibrations of the shot, even as the bullet travels through the barrel, it increases the accuracy of every shot, additionally, the De-Resonator also aids in target acquisition due to its ability to decrease barrel jump/walk at the shot. Easy to install, compact design, tightens groups and fits multiple barrel sizes. Designed for scoped rifles without iron sights. Now available for heavy bull barrels. Available: Standard Countour Barrels Bull Barrels

The Sims LimbSaver Barrel De-Resonator (standard size) will accommodate a barrel with an outside diameter of 1/2 inch to 7/8 inch. Depending on the specific model of your rifle the barrel diameter may vary. Please verify your barrel diameter.

answer 2
Yes it would fit a regular No 1 or 2 or might even fit a No. 3 barrel contour. Barrel contours information can be found by looking at one of the barrel manufacturer website, like Shilen, Kreiger, Hart, Lilja, Bartlin, etc. All of these vendor make custom barrel for your deer rifle.

Where you place the Limb Saver on your rifle depends on a few factors. You can place it near the end or near the stock as shown on the TV shows. I have never had any improvement buy using this product near the forearm area. I have seem slight improvements in accuracy by placing the Limb Saver near the end of the barrel, generally one inch in from the barrel. When you fire you rifle, your barrel vibrates before the bullet exits out the barrel. At the end of the barrel is where this harmonic vibration is at it's worst. By placing the limb saver at the end of the barrel it helps dampens out this vibration.

Trying different weight bullets and ammo manufacturers will also help you find the right load for your rifle. If you are shooting large 3" groups at 100 yards the Limb Saver will help. But try different ammo along with this product will help you find what shoots best in your 300 Win Mag.....

To get the most out of your 300 Win Mag, you are going to have to lighten the trigger to 3 lb pull, be sure your barrel is torqued down to 65 inch pounds to your stock, try different ammo and bullets weights. The Limb Saver is only one of the steps you need to take! It does work......

I no longer have the package, but I'm pretty sure that is the size I got for my newer Winchester Model 70 300 Win Mag and it fits great. It needed to be worked down the barrel a bit, but it's not moving unless I really want it to move.

As long as it is not a bull. I have it on a Winchester model 70 300 ultra, a Tikka 7MM, and a Remington 300 win. No problems.

I have a Windham Weaponry AR15 and the standard de-resonator will fit. It takes some work but it will fit. No need to heat it up in the oven or anything like that. Use a little bit of soapy water and some elbow grease.

I purchase a pair of the Limb Saver years ago and put them a standard barrel. But to answer your question, NO - they would not fit on any AR rifle that I know of.....

They are made for light weight, standard no. 2 barrels. I had a hard time installing them on the barrel even after heating the Limb Saver up in the oven.....Where you install them on the barrel depends on many factors.

To dampen out vibrations on a AR15, you might want to think about purchasing a heavy barrel 20" to 24" long upper.

answer 1
The Sims LimbSaver Barrel De-Resonator, item number IK-227667, suggested method of use is as follows:
1
Spray some gun oil inside the de-resonator.
2
Push the de-resonator down the end of the barrel. If it does not fit, remove the Iron Sight on your weapon according to the care instructions provided with the rifle.
3
Push the de-resonator down to 3/4 inch from the stock if you have a non-floating barrel weapon. Push the de-resonator down 3/4 inch down from the muzzle if you have a floating barrel weapon.
4
Test the de-resonator at a shooting range. Move the de-resonator 1/2 inch forward after the first shot and see if it resonates more or less. Move it back 1 inch and test again. Keep moving the de-resonator back and forth by about 1/2 inch each time to see where you feel the least vibrations.

I set mine on my Rem 700SS 30.06 about 12" from the barrel exit. Instructions say to move it until you find your sweet spot with it. I had it zeroed in at the range and have not had to fiddle or move it since.
