Not recommended for air travel...I bought this case to fly a gun home. Even with all four latches closed and 4 padlocks, the back/hinge side was not closed and you could see the gun inside. Back of case would still open enough to pull the gun out. I had to ask TSA security to tape it up on both ends to get it home. Do not buy this gun case.

No it doesn't, it opens up on the ends with little effort. Not secure enough in my opinion.

Don't worry about the baggage handlers. TSA will not allow this case on an aircraft. The rule is you must not be able to pry the case open when latched and locked. It is very easy to do with this case. I did it just last week, I bought it based on the description and luckily after talking to TSA and reading the rules online , I was able to determine that it was a no go before I arrived at the airport with a firearm that would not be getting on the aircraft. I bought an SKB and returned the case to Cabelas on my way to the airport. Fact is they don't care that the description is wrong.

No is the answer. I take off my bipod. I have two other different brand hard cases and the bipod must come off when I use these cases as well. If you leave the bipod on it is difficult to close the case and the gun is not held tight. do not do it. I take the bipod off and lay if flat in the case next to the gun. there is room.

The Plano® Single Scoped Rifle Case, item # IK-290555, has internal dimensions of 52 1/4" x 8 3/4". For most rifles, that would be too narrow to fit a scoped rifle with a bipod attached.

The case will accept a shackle no larger than 3/8" diameter, there are four locations for this lock. I would not recommend this case for air travel though.

Any weapon will fit this case, as long as the total length from muzzle to recoil pad is less than 48 inches. It is also plenty wide to accept a large scope, as long as it does not have tall (like see through so you can use the iron sights) rings.
