I found a cheep universal sling at my local megamart.if you push the folded over and sewn end into the slot in the buttstock, the folded end catches the slot.i could not pull it back through.the front end simply attaches with standard sling attachment.to remove the rear part of the sling from the buttstock.remove recoil pad and with flat screwdriver or a butter knife push the sling fold down and pull the sling from the slot.

Question

Are there Interchangable barrels

My question is, being that this gun is very closely modeled to a Winchester 1300, could a larger barrel from a Winchester 1300 be used?

I held a 22in 1300 today and it looked as if it would fit without a problem. Ideas or suggestion?

You want either the model that comes with both the security and field barrel.

This model only has the security barrel and is choked in the barrel.

The field barrel models feature a winchoke.

The field barrel has a removable modified choke with a standard WinChoke configuration (from the manual).
The Cabela "expert" is incorrect in saying that it is fixed. You can purchase a 3rd party choke in whatever configuration you want, and replace the modified choke that comes with the field barrel.
The Home Defense or Home Security gun barrel has a fixed cylinder bore choke (basically no choke or restriction). This gives maximum spread, but shorter distance. It also allows the use of rifled slugs with no modifications.

answer 4
You can run slugs through the Home Defense (HD) version as it has a cylinder choke (no restriction).
The field barrel has a modified choke, and so you may be able to run software slugs through it, but don't use any hard cast slugs as the restriction can't tolerate the hard slugs. Do this SPARINGLY.
The Field barrel has a modified, screw-in choke. If you are going to run a lot of slugs in this barrel, find a cylinder bore choke. Any general purpose choke will fit.

Effective range will depend on the slug performance. Usually in the 20-40 yard range. Most any 18" barrel, smooth bore, cylinder choke gun will have similar results with a specific slug since the barrel dimensions are similar.

Technically, any shotgun will work for trap or skeet shooting, but if you want to be successful shooting trap or skeet, skip this one and look further! The two biggest negatives regarding this gun and trap/skeet shooting would be 1) the barrel length. Way too short. Most trap and skeet guns are going to have a 28" or 30" barrel. 2) It has a fixed choke that isn't ideal for trap or skeet.

It wouldn't be the first choice for trap and/or skeet with a short security barrel. Look at the models with the longer barrel. These also take the winchoke. This one does not.
