how do you lock the camera so the sd card doesn't get stolen

the camrea is secrued by the screwed mount on the tree or by a cable i don't see where i can attach a lock to secure the sd card

I use a long electrical tie/strap secured around the camera making sure not to obstruct the motion detector or lens. Sure someone could cut it but may deter "honest" people.

the bracket screws into the tree. the small one sided allthread attaches to the camera and it comes with a round nut. this then attaches to bracket. if you dont have these items take it back

In the "setup mode" you will be able to view the surrounding are in the monitor. Press the manual camera icon located on the right just under the del button. This will snap a picture & you can use your range finder to determine just how far out the camera is reaching. You could just walk around entering from different trail locations to judge effectiveness. I did. Made for some interesting shots.

When raining the movement does not trip the trigger and it only takes pictures of moving game. It also works underwater. I had a camera in a swamp and we had so much rain it submerged the camera for 2 days and it continued to take great pictures during and after.

Why didn't you put anything in the description about night pictures. This is the second camera I've reviewed that didn't mention night pictures. Until I found it in the Q&A, I concluded that it only took day pictures. I almost marked it off my list of possibilities.

This camera does have pretty good night pics and videos but it whites out if the animal is too close occasionally. I think this is a good camera so far and recommend it.

I cant help you for Technical Support but i can help you about the automatic switching from picture to video. When you select picture, there is a small "save" below the setting. You hit 'OK' on the camera and it saves that setting. Try that.

Honestly, it depends on how many times the camera is activated. It literally depends on how many events the camera picks up...so your guess is as good as mine! It will last several days if not weeks for normal movement.

No software needed. Just copy the pictures to your desired location (My Documents, Desktop, iPhoto, etc.) and it works fine. It is literally Plug N Play. Easy to use!

The Cabela's Outfitter Series™ 8MP IR Trail Camera, item # IK-461143, does not require any type of special software to view, copy, or delete pictures from the camera via a computer or a SD, SDHC, or UHS-1 memory card. Pictures can be deleted easily and safely from the camera, memory card or on a computer.

The Cabela's Outfitter Series™ 8MP IR Trail Camera, item # IK-461143, allows you to format the SD under the Setup and Menu setting on the camera. First, turn the camera from off to setup, press the menu button, use the arrows to scroll through the menu option to locate the format option, press the "ok" button on the format setting and this will format your memory card.
