I have found that it will record the full programed length of time if there is something in view of the camera that is moving. so if you were to go and move around in front of you camera for 20 second it should record you the full amount of programed time. if you were to just pass in front of it, it should only record you as you pass then stop recording when nothing is detected to save battery life and memory space.

I noticed that to, so I set it up in the house in a controlled environment and this is what I found. The camera will record the full programed length of video if it detects movement for the entire time. If it stops detecting movement say five seconds into the video then it will stop recording and start recording again when there is movement again. I think that it is just a smart way for the camera to save battery live and memory space to only record when there is something to record.

answer 1
The PIR settings of the Cabela's Outfitter Series™ 8MP IR Trail Camera, Item: IK-461143, determine how sensitive the camera trigger is to motion. Setting this too high will result in photos being triggered erroneously. Setting the PIR to low will result in photo opportunities being missed. Higher temperatures can lead to the PIR being less sensitive. As a result, it might be necessary to set to a higher level when being used in higher temperatures.

Question

Video screen went black after pressing menu button twice.

Video screen went black after pressing menu button twice while in setup mode. After removing the SD card, hoping to reset it, and pushing a bunch of buttons, still no screen. Then it popped up "no SD card inserted". So I inserted card and the screen went black again. Is there anyway to reset it? I replaced batteries thinking that could be the problem; it wasn't. Any ideas?

Question

Time lapse mode intervals?

When the camera is set in time lapse mode what is the intervals between shots? I looked at the manual at a Cabela's store, and I believe it said it could be set from 5 minutes apart to 8 hrs apart. Is that correct because most other cameras have settings programmable anywhere from 5 seconds up. If it is preset at 5 minutes apart the camera would miss a LOT of animal movement if it was set to capture movement over a food plot.
