I recommend you try on a pair with the type of socks you normally or expect to wear. It is very important your feet fits properly and comfortably, regardless of what size because each manufacturer may fit differently. If your feet is not comfortable, you'll end up not wearing it and blaming on the shoe.

The Merrell has good width for me with high arches and an e-width. With your foot being a 4-e width i would consider a half size larger only.

Absolutely. I own two pairs. They are extremely comfortable and light. The only time my feet ever get wet is walking through very wet, high grass. That will happen with any boot unless they're rubber.

They are warm but they are not insulated so there's not going to be a temperature rating. I wear them from spring through fall. I wear insulated boots in winter.

They're not insulated so you'll need warm socks. I have worn mine hunting and hiking during the winter, but I have better boots for that purpose. My feet tend to get cold in these, but not wet.

I have worn them in the winter, in snow, for two winters. I wouldn't wear them as a hunting boot during the winter but , for general wear in one or two inches of snow they provide more than adequate protection.

They are not insulated but should work fine if you were moving but might be a poor choice for sitting still during a cold Montana day where it might drop to -30 below. Sole tread should work great!

Do the soles provide traction on urban surfaces too?

I have used several pairs of hiking boots that provide great trail traction. However, the soles provided little or unacceptable traction on urban surfaces such as concrete, ashphalt, steel decking and stairs, etc.
