I have owned these boots almost 1.5 yrs. At first I did not use a sealant and my feet never got wet. However, after about 3 months I started to use a water sealant to be safe. I wear these boots in the rain, snow, and I walk through creeks and swamps. There is nothing worse than wet feet when you are sitting in the woods hunting. So I would recommend using some water proofing just to be safe. i have used both a spray and now I use a product called sno-seal, it is more like a shoe polish you rub into the boot.
Hope this helps.

The answer to your question is, no. You do not need to spray these boots with waterproof spray. I wore these boots outside after I bought them in 2' of snow and my feet were nice and warm and dry.

It is recommended to order your normal shoe size unless you are going to wear heavy socks, you then may want to order up a half size larger.

Probably not. Buy whatever size you normally wear with other brands/styles of boots, and you should be good. (I wear all of my boots over a heavy wool sock.)

I'd say no. I wear size 14 or 15, depending on the brand, and with these boots the size 14 fit better.

I orderd my regular size (in wide) and was fine, I even have to wear a special made insole, I took out the insole that came with boot and was fine, even had room for thick socks.

the wide width are are wider then the mediums. I know I have wide feet. If I wear mediums my feet get sore and blisters on the sides of my feet.

answer 2
Usually a man's medium shoe is designated either as a C or D. A man's wide shoe uses the letters E or EE. The actual width of a shoe can vary by manufacturer so not all size D or medium shoes will be exactly alike.
I purchased a pair of these boots in 2011 and I have a D foot. At first the boots felt a little tight, but I wore them around the house for a week and they broke in very nicely. I can wear a thick sock in the winter with them and I find these boots to be very comfortable.
Also I have written a review on these boots if you are interested in the overall durability and construction of them.
I hope this helps.

answer 4
Medium width boots are the same as boots labeled as D width, while Wide width boots are the same as boots labeled as EE width. The actual difference in width between the 2 widths will vary with the size of the boots as the widths are proportional to the length of the boots. However, for the most common sizes, a Wide will be approximately 0.4 inches wider than a Medium.
