Customer questions and answers for NEW BALANCE New Balance® 974 Country Walker

Question

How well do they breathe?

I have problems with "hot feet" and need a cool shoe. I have New Balance MW645 and can't stand to wear them in moderate to warm weather.

This shoe is using waterproof leather so it is not going to be as cool as a model that would be mostly mesh. An example would be the New Balance 621.

They breath okay. I have hot feet myself and do not have too many problems like I do with some brands of shoes and boots. They are warm and waterproof, so great for that, but do get a little warm, not bad, but a little. Like I said, much better then some.

These shoes work great in our cool coastal climate. In hotter areas I would look for shoes with mesh uppers instead of leather. There's no 'cure' for hot feet but the mesh helps.

These shoes are very similar to the New Balance shoes. Shoot, New Balnce may make them for Cabela's! I do not have issues with "hot feet" so it is hard to respond except to say these shoes are very comfortable to me!

This is a great shoe. I've had two pair over the years I've like it so much. The shoe is waterproof so it does not breath. I suggest you invest in a good pair of moisture wicking socks that will help with the foot comfort. I use this shoe mostly for hiking and camping in the Spring, Summer and Fall and have not had any problems with comfort.

The shoes are a little warm on your feet but now where near the New Balance shoes. I look for cooler shoes as well because I live in South Carolina and near the cost where our temps reach in the upper 90s on a regular basis in the Summer. They work for me here they should be good to go where you are from.

I've never had to "break-in" a pair of New Balance shoes. Ever. You do need to get your feet measured by someone who knows what they're doing. Most of the people in shoe stores nowadays have no idea, just going along with the W-M-N conspiracy.
